Pita Pit - Taupo

Made an online order for pickup, stating in caps who was coeliac and required GF. Online ordering also has 2x GF options, one for GF and one for GF (care with cross contamination) which i thought was good. On pickup it was in a separate bag, with safety requirements highlighted on her order slip. They explained that her order was made first, having cleaned everything down and got new utensils/gloves etc, followed by the normal order being made. No cross contamination reaction for my daughter, who is super happy to have a takeout option!

I told them my daughter has Coeliac. They have GF wraps, changed gloves, cooked chicken on baking paper, used seperate utensils for the grill. Toast wrap in baking paper. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

After watching the staff use the same utensil to spread the same hummus on my husband’s wrap then my (GF) wrap I questioned them. They said it has never been a problem for anyone before. Offered to remake my wrap but I declined having lost contact confidence in the integrity of their ‘GF’ ingredients.

My wife and I were looking for a nice place for our lunch date. We opted for Pita Pit. We were greeted by the most lovely and friendly Elaine. Elaine took our order and asked us to take a seat while our order was being prepared. The wait was not too long and the pita was absolutely divine. It's the best pita we have ever had. Highly recommended.

Everytime I go to Pita pit Taupo, I receive the best service and friendliest staff. A special thanks to Candice and Ari who always serve me when I'm ordering my dinner, my order is spot on everytime. Keep up the good work team!
