Osteria Mount Maunganui - Tauranga

We always enjoy dining at Osteria. They offer a seperate gluten free menu. While there isn’t a dedicated GF fryer there are plenty of delicious and safe options on offer. We have discussed our coeliac requirements with staff and these are always addressed respectfully and helpfully.

Beautiful food. There is a separate gluten free menu and they include on the order “celiac!” So I think you can have confidence that they take allergies seriously. The garlic flat bread was delicious as was the pasta, risotto and lamb shank.

The staff were very attentive and they had a GF menu, however my GF risotto had a piece of pasta in it : They were really busy and I’ve eaten there before with no problems but I wouldn’t go again.

The food was good and the waitress was attentive. The waitress seemed to have a fairly good understanding of what was required for coeliac disease food preperation Vs just a gluten free order. She informed me that the Chef would do his best to avoid contamination. I heard her discuss my order as a 'coeliac order' with the chef. I had no reaction from the food, except to say I was very full after polishing off a full Pizza and some Spaghetti Bolognese.

Amazing restaurant! Gluten free menu with pasta, pizza, main meals and yummy desert. Knowledge was excellent and food was define!
