This Tawa Indian restaurant is a gem in the suburbs! Worth the drive from Wellington added bonus is you will definitely get a car park. The restaurant is not just Indian but North Indian, and the menu is reflective of authentic dishes from this region. A bonus for vegetarians about half the menu is Vegie options. Never fear though if you have friends that aren't as keen on authentic spice levels they have some kormas and ye olde butter chicken as well. My group ordered the vegetarian share platter and the non-vegetarian share platter as starters and this fed our group of 7 well. There were samosas, onion bahji, pakora and tandoori chicken. I got the chaana masala medium hot, and the heat did not fail to impress. It was the perfect level of heat, so if you are spice shy I would suggest ordering a bit down from what you might normally order. The chickpeas were well cooked and the size of the curry generous. We shared the bread basket across the table which included cheese naan, garlic naan and roti. All cooked to perfection. The BYO cost here is low (I think $4 per bottle) so we brought a number of bottles along. They have a number of Indian and other beers on the menu as well. This place is really good value for money too, for 7 of us 2 courses and the cost of BYO (think 4+ bottles) the total came in under $200 which is pretty sweet! So if Delhi is a bit far for you to travel for a delicious North Indian fare I reckon head down to Kadai Junction!
Ka pai!!! Awesome food and good service, would go anytime!!! Yum yum yum yummy, recommend to all my friends and family. Thanks for the beautiful dinner :
Great food and great service. I keep coming back each week for more. These guys make a totally amazing butter chicken. The service is always with a smile!
Quick visit to possibly one of the best Indian Restaurants in Wellington. Always impressed with the service and quality of meals on offer. Had my favourite the Chicken Tikka Masala and as usual this was faultless. New Owners and still fantastic. Definitely worth a visit when next you are in the mood for a curry.
