A lot of menu items were out of stock when we went there; probably because we came in at night already. Calamansi juice didn't have much taste but it could be because it's made fresh. We were walk-in guests in line but the wait wasn't too long; about mins. We got to walk around the compound first and took some pictures.Shout to our server, Sir JC; he gave us a warm welcome and some free coffee hehe
I went to Tipulo twice, and both times I had to wait to be seated. Now, this part is mostly understandable, especially since the first time I came, I was a walk-in. The second time, I brought my senior citizen parents with me and duly made reservations so as to avoid making the elderly wait. We waited an hour to be seated when we came. I don't blame the staff at all, I understand this was stressful to them as well, I just hope people who will dine here will know they will have to wait, even with reservations. Also, the menu does not indicate which items will be spicy or the level of spiciness in the dishes. Two of the dishes we had that day (Squid Sisig, Caldereta) were too spicy for my elderly companions to handle. I wish we were informed of this in the menu. Overall, the place is still alluring because of the ambience and the greeneries all around. Like I said, the staff are nice and friendly, apologetic for the inconvenience. This review is not meant to diss on them, but more so to give light to the chaotic reservation and seating system in place.
At a resto within the First Pacific Leadership Academy, you have no choice but to try Filipino cuisine. The food is a little overpriced considering the amount of servings. The food is good, but not spectacular given the high prices. Service is basically like an OJT trying to complete the number of hours. You won't get a smile. You'll get a look at best. You are not that attentive. Such a waste of good uniform. The ambiance is great but is negatively affected by the service and taste of the food.
[1] Waiters are very, very attentive [2] Your event manager Olga makes sure that everything goes well in and outside the kitchen. She's not a snob and bery, very accommodating when we asked about the birthday and wedding celebrations [3] It gave us a different Filipino cuisine experience [4] Cozy atmosphere
The location is in the First Pacific Leadership Academy. They serve great Filipino dishes! The beef kare-kare, tinapa lumpia, sisig, tortang talong, and boneless crispy pata are top choices. The family will certainly love to come back here.
