I tried the 'media noche' sandwich along with a beef empanada. The bread was fresh, the pork was deliciously tender, and the garlic-infused sauce on the side added a delightful kick that was a refreshing twist to my usual lunch. Although the empanada was a bit on the pricey side, it was well worth it. It had a wonderfully flaky crust and was fried in fresh oil, which really enhances the flavor of fried foods. I can't wait to return and sample more of the sandwiches on their menu!
This is a tidy and clean restaurant with a welcoming staff. I visited after the lunch rush and had the opportunity to speak with the chef. The food was incredibly fresh and packed with flavor. It's Cuban cuisine tailored to local preferences—who else does that? I will definitely return; the prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous, just like in Texas. I wish them great success!
Cafe Havana primarily serves lunch, so don’t expect a full menu—just sandwiches, empanadas, and similar items—but they specialize in those, and do them very well. I ordered the Media Noche, which consists of pork, ham, Swiss cheese, and a pickle. This is what most people envision when they think of a Cuban sandwich, and it was outstanding. I will definitely be back to explore more of their offerings.
Fantastic local restaurant! Sarge is an exceptional host, and his food is absolutely delicious! If you’re in Temple, be sure to stop by. You won’t be disappointed!
This was my first time visiting, and I found the place to be very clean. The lechón sandwich was excellent. The owners are also the cooks, which gives it a warm, family-like atmosphere. Plus, the menu is quite affordable.
