Templestowe Hotel - Templestowe Lower

We came here 5 years ago and have raved about this buffet to our family ever since. We returned expecting the same great experience and food - what a let down. All of the buffet was just average. Basically enjoyed nothing. No authentic asian food - the "fried" rice was bright yellow.. more Indian than chinese. The only roast vegies were potatoes. The "fresh" prawns were freezer burnt. There seems to be a bit of a shift with the chefs that were cooking... and you can tell. The huge underground playground is long gone too. Such a shame its gone downhill.

Three generations of one family, all with different food tastes, celebrated Mothers Day at the Templestowe Hotel.. The buffet choice was really good, soup, roasts, curries, Italian, salads and sea food. The food was replenished all the time, the young staff were friendly and cheerful.We also enjoyed the variety of sweets.We had three teenagers with us and they also thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Didn't like how the young children handle food with bare hands and put it back after tasting. Found meat greasy and fatty. Some dishes just warm not hot. Desserts good variety.

Reasonable food quality and range on offer. Ideal for the buffet service on offer. Good value for money and caters for all ages. Good seating numbers on offer with ample parking at the rear. Bookings an imperative for all those main events of the year happenings.

Eight of us for drinks & then lunch to celebrate a birthday. Was quiet just a few days after New Year so we casually had a few rounds & then ordered our lunches at the bar. The prices are most reasonable & the food was good pub quality. No real service – the barman brings the food to the table when it is done. Parmas were typical pub & the squid was great – according to the two that ordered that. Really good value for quite a cheap meal.
