The Crescent Moon Cafe is a gem of a restaurant in Antipolo. This belongs to Lanelle Abueva-Fernando, a woman known for her art in painting and ceramics. She was actually there when I visited, she smiled and said hello as I walked around the path next to the fish pond. A very personable woman. The place is so calm and peaceful. It has a lot of trees so it is pleasantly cool without air conditioning. The main restaurant structure is wrapped with screens so the breeze could come in without the insects. However, we stayed outside in the cabana when we brought our dog. This place is pet friendly. ???? At the weekend they have buffets for their guests. We had pork, chicken, vegetables and a fish dish with rice. They had a unique type of soup with a touch of ginger (and I think cumin), the taste was unique but very pleasant. I had the fish that looks like a tanguigue. And of course they have their signature Alagao as a starter .... read more
We discovered this chill-out buffet on top of Antipolo on the recommendation of friends. Usually, Mas Pinupuntahan Natin Yung mga Groceries are places that we saw from an article that are usually out of date. But this one lets their customers be their advertising, which is a sign that they are serving high quality food. Crescent Moon Cafe will not only make you happy but also get you out of town with its laid back interior. They also sell adorable ceramics that you might want to take a look at. Detailed evaluation: RESERVATION Basis sya and you must reserve at least days in advance. I made a reservation via email and liked how they were quick to respond. We booked the lunch buffet (12-2pm) which costs P550 per person, a usual mid-range buffet price. It's very easy to get there, but we still got lost. HAHA. We didn't look for the address and all we know is the name of the cafe. Good thing my mother had a lot of friends, na nakapunta na, so we can get help from them. THE PLACE feels exclusive and cozy. Parang, it feels like one of those rustic-ranchy-probinysa-like restaurants na makikita mo sa Tagaytay. Still ok sana kung ma update Yung Interiors. It feels old but like pinaglipasan old and not antique old. The cafe is also a big place (compared to other restaurants on the subway) and has so much potential. Including more elements to add to their lovely pond (which was lovely, by the way) will really improve the customer experience. It can get a bit hot too (during lunch), especially when trying to roam the place. But maybe I've only been since Pawisin Ako. Mabait ang mga SERVER. They were kind enough to take our pictures and were very polite to answer some of our questions. I really appreciate that and that type of service is a big factor that makes me want to go back. The food was great. They had 3 main lines and another 3 sides. It might be a deal breaker for some, especially those buffet lovers. But despite the small selection of food, the quality makes up for the lack of variety. The pumpkin soup (their staple food) was a nice first impression. At first, Akala Ko was just a simple pumpkin soup, but it actually contains Buko slices. I've never eaten that before. The combination may sound strange to some, but they lived really well. Another staple on the menu is their own version of the spring roll, the alagaw salad. I'm not a vegetarian and definitely not a fan of spring rolls, but the genius of the alagaw salad! I love it! Of all the things they have offered, it is the strangest (to me) and most "innovative". I don't want to describe how it tastes because I want you to try it for yourself. For a person who doesn't like to eat vegetables, this is an A + for me. They served 3 main courses and a cooked vegetarian meal. These choices vary from day to day which is good as you can eat new dishes each time you visit. During our visit there was beef in curry sauce, grilled salmon, and sweet and flavorful prawns (not sure with the names). I loved both the beef and the salmon where they both had their own twists where it didn't taste like the usual (both tasted healthier). The prawns were ok for me (I have very high standards for prawns). Lastly, they served suman with mangga for dessert. I don't want to overdo this one, but this is probably the best tasting suman I've ever had. I'm not a kakanin expert, but this one was really good. Nag orders pa kami for another 24 pieces to take away. The combination of Suman and Mangga was an experience! Masarap talaga. Di na kailangan lagyan ng asukal yung suman, as it is sweet on its own. Along with the alagaw salad, they were the king and queen of the cafe. END NOTE It would have been better if the P100 was cheaper. It really would have been a lot. Even so, I will still return to this buffet cafe. It's a good place to relax and eat a lot without feeling guilty. You, with your family or friends, will definitely enjoy the good food and company.

The place is private and interesting because of its ponds, waterfalls and its pottery corner. The interior is also appealing with a unique feel. The food tasted just average and unfortunately I was unable to finish the "puso ng sage" and leafy starter as it was attacked by many small ants. Grilled chicken was overcooked. Anyway, it was a lovely date adventure to try on a slightly rainy Sunday.
