This was our first visit to d 'Artagnan but it won 't be the last. With all those breakfast restaurants copying each others, it was very refreshing to find this very original restaurant. The ambiance kind of reminds me of europe. Nice setting and decor, very class. The staff was kind and polite. Although I 'm not a great fans of crepes, these where just amazingly good. I had Le Roulé Hollandais and it was just WOW! Two downsides... first; it was a bit long since before we got our food and since the place wasn 't crowded, having to wait 25 minutes for crepes is quite long. and secondly; Coffee refills ... plssss The food was so good we 'll be back to try the fondu for sure.
We have been to this restaurant a few times and had no complaints. If you want a leisurely meal a fondue at this place is ideal...However, we brought our inlaws here lastnight and it was very disappointing. The service was slow at best..Our server was charming, when around, but we literally had to stand up at our table to flag someone down to get our water refilled after being totally dry for atleast 25 mins...during a meal that takes atleast 45 mins, it being a slow fondue...during which time we never had our water refilled once. With the fondue and sauces, it's not surprising to be thirsty...The restaurant wasn't very busy, in our whole section, (one half of the restaurant) there was one other table with 2 ppl...the other side had aprox 5-6 tables ..so being swamped was not the case...Had it been we would totally understand..We were not in any hurry and enjoying the evening with inlaws..To top off our dismay however, we had ordered the chocolate and the cream sugar fondues for desert...Being our inlaws were visiting from France, they had never tasted the Sugar Cream, typically from Quebec..It's something I particulary love...We waited another 20 mins after finishing our meal, for the table to be cleared..then another 15 for the dessert fondues to arrive....All while the server was texting on his phone, or the other server , the woman working there was on the restaurant phone...(personal call it would seem, as the phone never rang she was draped over the counter talking lol) She was very adept at avoiding looking in our direction earlier when trying to get water lol...We finally recieved our desert...the chocolate was delicious as usual but to my dismay the sugar creme fondue was cold...I was grainy because of it and as we hoped the warming candle would heat it up ..given it was hard to get the attention of the staff..we ended up leaving most of it and sharing the chocolate one between the 4 of us...When the server finally came to ask if it was to our liking...*Long after desert was finished* ...I told him about the cold desert..and invited him to touch it , even after it had been warming over the candle for the last 20 mins..he agreed it was cold and was sorry, offering to replace it at no cost...but it was too little too late ..we just wanted to leave...Thankfully our guests enjoyed the cheese fondue and main course fondue...they are always delicious there, but I certainly won't bring guests there again...Unless I call to find out when the boss is around lol...It was evident that he wasn't by the lax behavior of the staff last night.
Crepe are very good. Soupe a l oignon is good to excellent. Its have change over the year. Service is usually good. Sonetime there good be waiting.
Brought my gf there for her birthday on march 06 2018. It was a verry satisfying experience. The fondue was delicious. Not too pricy either. I unfortunately do not remember the waitress' name but the service was impeccable! The cocktails were great. The only negative thing i can say was that the chocolate fondue we ordered for desert tasted like cheap chocolate pudding. If it wasn't for that, the place would've gotten a solid 5/5.
