I finally decided to visit this restaurant for a quick meal and drink on a Saturday afternoon. I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff who warmly welcomed us with pleasant smiles. The great service and delicious food convinced us to book a Festive Fayre meal for December. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
We went for dinner at royal oak charlton, the food was delicious, and the staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. Our server ..a young lady called Scarlet was lovely. Would definitely go again and recommend :
I felt compelled to leave this review after having the worst steak I 've ever eaten. My Mother, Brother, his girlfriend myself stopped off for a meal after watching the BSB at Thruxton. When ordering my steak I was informed that they can 't cook bleu steaks so would have to have it rare which didn 't leave me hopeful of a good steak. My scinisism was eventually, after asking why it was taking so long for our food to be served, confirmed. My steak was approx 8mm thick looked had a brown juice covering it was well done. I couldn 't eat it after 2 mouthfuls it had put me off the rest of my meal. When a member of staff came round to clear our table, we were asked if we enjoyed our food to which I told them that I couldn 't eat it because it was so bad. No refund or compensatory offer was made by the establishment. After this experience I/we will not be returning again.
Our local gem of a pub! The staff are second to none, always friendly and accommodating. The food is pub food but it doesn't disappoint. In over 15 years we have had no reason to complain. Jodi and Wanda are fantastic hosts and the staff are a real credit to them. Lovely village pub
