After a pleasant walk around the island, we returned to the “Boathouse” for homemade soup and bread, which were equally delightful. The menu offered a great variety of choices. Overall, it’s a lovely spot to visit on this beautiful island, and we will definitely return!
I was pleasantly surprised by my lunch experience on this remote island. The menu is creative, thoughtful, and healthy, with all dishes made fresh every day. The view is lovely, and the service is friendly and warm. I highly recommend it!
A quick boat ride across the harbor. A small, slightly apprehensive dog unsure about the boat, while eager humans anticipate their second visit to Ulva. I truly adore this place. It's wonderful to see it now community-owned, and there’s a noticeable sense of progress since my last visit (when the islanders secured their buyout). Oh, and I don't typically take photos of my food, but lunch was absolutely perfect. Plus, there’s an option to sit upstairs as well.
Loved everything about the Boathouse, the friendly service, the views and especially the food. If it's a nice dry day, definitely give this place a visit. The langoustines are amazing and the implements to get all the meat out are provided.
We have been visiting for many years, but this was our first visit since the new owners took over and we were not disappointed. The langoustine were fresh and full of flavour, the bread fresh and warm and the garlic butter to die for. Cake and tea followed with a fresh and light Victoria sponge which was a delight. The short boat crossing to the Boathouse is all part of the fun, so don’t miss this wonderful cafe and enchanting island.
