Transkaroo - The Island

The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere, with friendly and attentive servers and fantastic dishes on the menu. However, the portions are so large that it's difficult to save room for one of the delicious desserts. We will definitely be returning, as Transkaroo is the top spot to dine along the Garden Route!

My husband Briand and I ate at Transkaroo on Thursday evening 5 July 2018. I had skaapstertjies which were 'to die for '! My husband had skilpaadjies, so delicious, he almost ordered a 2nd round, but decided on the beef short rib which he totally loved and enjoyed as well. We had friendly good service, the waiter explained the menu in such detail so we knew exactly what to expect. Will definately visit again on our next road trip. Thank you very much!!!

Exceptional traditional menu. Food made to perfection. Skaapstertjies, skilpadjies, fish cakes must be the best in the country ! , lamb neck , pork belly , etc. Great value for money and great setting. Joe was our waitress and made us feel extremely welcome and provided excellent service. We shall be back soon !

The welcome and service was awesome and the food superb with incredible presentation. The creme brulle is to die for.

We often dine there. Real old world charm. Exciting menu. Very good wine selection. Exceptional food. Good service. An allround excellent dining experience!
