I had the birria tacos. they were good, not great. they had a heavy roasted Cheddar cheese flavor I didn't care about and no alcohol. the place was clean and the service was good so I will try this restaurant again. but I'll get something else next time.
Went to lunch before a week, and surprised that they have no lunch menu or specialties. the ordered planos and a gordita and although it came with an anemic looking side garnish, it was the passable court we ordered. not much cheese, but much meat. the plate with grilled chicken, boring and tears was very unnoticed. the chicken was cold and had little taste, and the rice was dry. also ordered a side order of platanos, and was disappointed with the tiny amount of product served. they promote that eating takes awhile arriving, but our came almost too fast as it did not seem freshly cooked or hot. our waitress was much more involved in making photos with the table of the ladies behind us than waiting for us, and we never got drinks refills, nor did she check on us at any time to see if we needed anything, even though the table with which she spent her time was right behind us. I have lived in Central America for years and love the kitchen there. have eaten mexican, Tex-Mex and other Latin cuisine all my life long and was simply not impressed by eating here. too expensive for the lack of quality here, we will not be back.
A Mexican food favorite in the woodlands, tx. la cocina de roberto serves authentic mexican foods such as pozole, birria and flaute for lunch and dinner. my favourite menu is for breakfast, however: the “Desayuno Vegetariano” offers delicious touch with nopales (cactus) and the “Chilaquiles con salsa verde” are from this world; they can order it with a spick or fajita on the side. the service is always welcoming and friendly, just like the restaurant owners roberto claudia.
First timers and food was delicious ?. In our order we had the queso fundido with chorizo and chips with guacamole. Our meal consisted of street tacos de pastor ? and 3 quesa-birria tacos with 2 large agua frescas de jamaica y limonada.Prices are resonable and Carmen our waitress was so friendly and efficient. Will definitely come back for the breakfast menu.
Is Birria Wars a thing? I just found the outstanding winner for The Woodlands at La Cocina de Roberto (45 at Woodlands Parkway location). Perfection in everyway, I haven't had Birrira Tacos this good since Belly of The Beast left. The meat was tender and delicious, the cheese perfectly cooked in and charred and the consume with a tremendous flavor. Officiallyaa for me, the best Birria Tacos in The Woodlands! One of my favorite Tortas too are also here.
