Le Chaubouret - Thelis-la-Combe

Locally in May, so many restaurants seemed to be closed. Le Chabouret remains open and deserves the popular patronage that it gets. Dinner from 7pm ranges from 16.20 euros upwards for a set 3 course meal and was certainly very good: Salad, tagliatelles, faux-filets etc and amazing pastry or a great range of ice creams all served with grace and efficiency. Locals love it too, so be there early or book ahead.

The dishes were very good (good crucque ardéchois, thighs of cailles cooked to perfection, but mixed with advertised vegetables changed for a purée, it is shameful) , the blueberry pie presented in a deliciously original way. but too much waiting, as much to take order, as to be served.

Reception especially nice and benevolent despite a great affluence and therefore quite expensive places. An exceptional blueberry pie, I recommend. ps: renewed experience in December, idem.
