The two employees behind the counter were packing up a third dozen buns, and they informed me that they had closed at 7:00 AM and wouldn’t serve me anything because they had been closed for 4 minutes. I offered to pay in cash or by card if the register was already closed, but their answer was still no. I asked what they planned to do with the three dozen freshly baked buns, and one of the employees was rather unhelpful, claiming it was company policy. What policy? To throw away buns from the night before? To rob their boss and take some for a party? I’m thankful my employees aren’t like this; they work hard to ensure the store makes money and that our customers are happy. If they had been my employees, I would have given them a lesson in common sense, which was clearly lacking behind the counter. Finally, I’m curious about what Cinnabon plans to do with those 36 freshly baked buns while the counter was closed and they refused to sell me any for simply 4 minutes.
I visited the Salton City Travel Center and ordered a Cinnabon. The girl who took my order was busy packaging individual buns. While she handled my payment and returned my change, she kept the same gloves on that she had used before I ordered. After she handed me my purchase, she immediately went back to icing the buns without changing her gloves or washing her hands. When I brought this up to her, she claimed she was using tongs, but those would still come into contact with surfaces that had been contaminated with money. This doesn’t seem to align with COVID-19 safety practices. Because of this experience, I won't be returning to this Cinnabon again.
I asked them what would happen to the three dozen buns that had just come out of the oven, and the guy told me it was company policy. What policy is that? Are they going to throw away fresh buns or keep them for the next day? I’m glad my own employees aren't like that; they work hard to make the store profitable and keep our customers happy. If it had been my team, they would have received a lesson in common sense, which was clearly lacking behind the counter. Finally, I wonder what Cinnabon plans to do with those 36 freshly baked buns that they refused to sell me while they were technically still closed for just a few minutes.
