I go by the three C's diners and dives. Number one is cost-effectiveness, cleanliness, and great customer service. I heard a lot about T-ville Diner in Thomasville. I love the nostalgia of this place it had a lot of history, which is awesome. However, where the rubber meets the road is the food. I once had an old man friend tell me you can tell a great Diner if they have a common hot dog and hamburger that is good. In his words, if they can't make a hamburger or hot dog good. I think you can just assume the other stuff is not going to be good, either. One of my guests at my party got a hamburger and let me take a bite it was awful. I got the Alaskan White Fish, which was recommended, and it was a very small quantity, although I will say it did come with three vegetables or a dessert in place of one vegetable. I thought that was a rather nice touch for a restaurant to offer three vegetables or a dessert. However, the Alaskan Whitefish was not that plentiful on the plate. I will say they're tartar sauce was very good. But I did not have enough fish to dip into it to really enjoy the tartar sauce. Hush puppies lack any flavor and tasted frozen. I was very impressed by the menu. Here, you can get anything from Greek all the way up through American Cuisine of any type. I found out they get their meats from Shuler Meats Lexington company which is a good meat company in Lexington. However, you have to order off the dinner menu to get them to cook it fresh. I highly recommend that ,I just ordered something off of the regular menu that they've already had ready for that day, which probably was a mistake. Also, we were in between lunch and dinner, which may have been a difficult time for the cook. I would not recommend the Alaskan Whitefish. I would not recommend hot dogs and hamburgers here. I will give this place one more turn at bat before I totally say it's not worth it. I will probably come back and order one of the dinner plates of the meat that they freshly prepare. I hate it was a bad experience. I really do like the history of this establishment and what it means to the town. I also saw where it is the number two restaurant in town that's pretty impressive. However, my experience was not that good. I also did not like how it was an American Diner, and it did not offer a military discount. May God bless America
Best dine in place I’ve ever been too them burgers are DELICIOUS!!!!!, I came for the delicious taste of the cheeseburger with extra burger and bacon and cheese and side of fries. 10/10 recommend for anyone
We begin many work days with a fast breakfast here. The waitresses are way beyond efficient, kind and fast. Southern breakfast staples are very good. I do not care for their chunky home fries, but that is just me. Brenda is often our waitress and she is amazing, but even the new servers are excellent. As a diner, they don't mind serving lunch sandwiches-like their huge ham and cheese club, anytime. The fries are some of the best as are their baked goods. Daily specials provide ample food at a small price. Exceptionally clean!
We came in late morning and had a choice of breakfast or lunch. We chose lunch. We were seated promptly. It was very clean and tidy, and obvious that CoVid cleaning and spacing precautions were in place, My wife ordered fried chicken and three veggies, and I ordered the spaghetti special with two sides; both were fresh, served warm, and delicious. We are from out of town and had not been here in a while, and were pleased to see this local icon still doing a great job. This is a classic friendly hard working NC small diner with kind and welcoming staff. You should try it.
