General Tso's Kitchen - Thornhill

The food here is incredible! Optimal freshness food came hot, not warm. Everything is done right. The portion sizes are great. Would recommend for a relaxed night at home. My favourite here is the lemon chicken chow mein combo plate. Chicken is done perfectly and the lemon sauce is delicious.

Love this place! Best Canadianized chinese food in the area. Batter fried items are excellent chicken balls actually contain some chicken, lemon chicken is large and delish, sesame shrimp are yummy, and the Cantonese chow mein noodles are very nice. Fried rice is tasty, mostly rice with lots of wok hei, in a very large order, especially in the combo dinner #5, with zippy Gen Tso Chicken. Old school beansprout eggrolls are very solid, beef with broccoli is good, and I like the flashback honey garlic ribs, mandarin pork chop, and black bean chinese eggplant. A couple of other dishes have impressed a bit less, but the prices are also excellent compared to most, so Im a regular :

Not a big fan of the sesame beef, general tsos was a bit too sweet. good portion of fried rice though

Was feeling really sad (rough week) and I woke up at 10PM so not many places were open. I ordered here and it was a pleasant surprise. It feels like getting a hug for my soul from your Chinese grandma that I never had. Because so much foods! I got Young Chow Fried Rice and Hot and Sour Soup. The egg roll was very yummy too. Its stuffed with beansprout, crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside.

The mushroom fried rice had a strong burnt aroma and the rice itself looked weird to me (small tiny grains). I had to throw almost all of it out bc the burnt smell was overwhelming. I think they reuse old burnt oil. The seafood chow mein was just okay. The egg roll was the only thing that I was happy with. I wish they would full them in a bit more. But I guess I only recommend the egg rolls. This place is for late night diners when everything else is closed.
