Located in Times Square, it's one of the many options for lunch as my mom used to work in that area. I've never had a bad dish here! Everything I order (I usually go for one of their specials) has been delicious. I love coming here for lunch and afternoon tea. If you get their meals, it also comes with a soup and coffee/tea. I especially like their ice milk tea not too sweet, not too strong, and not too milky. If you're in the area, definitely stop by!
Goldsor is the top Hong Kong style cafe in the GTA with an outstanding menu, friendly service, and great value. I have been a loyal customer since 2004 and the quality has always been consistently excellent. The baked casserole dishes, a signature of any 'caa caan teng', never disappoint. The 'guk zyu paai faan' (baked pork chop rice) is perfectly done with tender breaded pork chops, fried rice, real pasta sauce, and cheese topping. Another favorite of mine is the fish cutlet/fruit salad, but I recommend asking for the dressing on the side or skipping it altogether. And don't forget to try the fries – they are a must-try at Goldsor.
The best Baked Pork Chop Rice I've ever had. I would give it a 5 out of 5 rating, but I have only tried one dish at Goldsor. They serve the most delicious Hong Kong style baked pork chop rice in Toronto. The portion is large, with plenty of sauce, perfectly cooked rice with egg, and juicy pork chops in medium-sized pieces. The lack of artificial orange coloring makes this my favorite dish here. I visit religiously every few months and always struggle to resist ordering the same thing every time. For an extra $3, you can upgrade to a combo that includes soup, a warm dinner roll, and a drink, leaving you with either too much food or a delicious lunch for the next day. Highly recommended.
Situated in Times Square plaza, this restaurant has been a long-standing presence in the area. Specializing in Hong Kong-style Western cuisine, they offer breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner menus. Although I found their breakfast to be lacking, their lunch options such as baked pork chop spaghetti and sirloin steak have earned them a loyal customer base. While not the most affordable HK cafe, the quality of their food more than makes up for it.
