Supposed to be Chinese but I think its meant for Chinese born in Australia whose parents can't really cook Chinese food or for people with limited understanding of Chinese cuisine. Yes, it's expensive but that's expected.
If you want to experience the so called worst food ever, then it is the best place to try. We had lobster during the lobster promotion and was dismayed at the quality of the food. Never visit this place again. I do not think this restaurant will last...
Must say what a disappointing experience this restaurant was compared to all the other high end restaurants in Perth which we regular visit. From the very start you could tell that the staff were disinterested and inattentive. I had to ask for a new drink every time for myself and my wife with the final nail in the coffin having to ask for the waiter to come back and wipe down the table after the plates were collected. The food was great but you can get far better value in many other restaurants in Perth or at the Crown for that matter. I had heard great things but also that it had gone down in recent times and now I can see why. Even when I told the waitress as I paid that the service was horrible she merely says “I’ll let management know” in really robotic and nonchalant way. I would not recommend at all.
If you love terrible service and average overpriced food then this is the place for you!Went for dinner with my wife and another couple. Was expecting premium fine dining Chinese food and a hefty bill. We got the hefty bill but not much else...Firstly, had to wait for our table to be ready - even though we booked weeks in advance we waited and were then finally taken to our table set for 5 people. Not a big deal most would say - so we thought too but unfortunately this was just the start to a most disappointing night at Silks. They placed our champagne away from our table but never returned to top up our glasses. I took it upon myself to make a point and get up to top up the table. Even this didn't seem to raise any eyebrows of the staff. Not once did they even notice our empty vessels and ask if we wanted to order more. The kicker was at around 10pm when we went to place another food order - looking for our "wow factor". The server told us sorry but the kitchen was now closed. WTF!? No warning or heads up whatsoever.Absolutely disgraceful service from what is marketed as a premium fine dining restaurant in a supposedly world class resort complex. Silks - what a joke. Maybe pop over to your neighbours at Nobu and see what fantastic food and slick service is all about.Roll on the follow night and we swing past our local Chinese restaurant for a fantastic takeaway meal that cost us less than the underwhelming Silks 'signature' fried rice for four people.I laughed when we went to pay the bill and the lady gestured towards the tip amount on the eftpos machine. Absolutely no idea...What a shame the old Yu restaurant is no longer. Our dinners there were always top notch as expected.Never ever again Silks.
Ordered a $25 entree...three dumplings, they were delicious but the price was outrageous. Two entrees, one champers and one G &T...$85...suffice to say we didn't stay for main course!
