El Mariachi - Thornton Township

El Mariachi on Torrence has a feel like a cantina and in general does not disappoint. The music is a moderate level of Mexican that one would expect at a restaurant like this. Seating is refurbished and it looks like it's an old, converted bar, but everything is clean, lighting is excellent and there's ample space for small groups. Prices are at a modest markup but good quality $20ish for lunch plates, $25-30 for dinner helping. Portions are not overkill which is nice. Some of the style of cooking is slightly different from my experience but still tasty. Had the enchiladas and their shredded chicken was good. Staff is very attentive and friendly, so tip fairly. Their guacamole is definitely worth getting
