Jinky's Cafe - Thousand Oaks

Goodbye, Jinky. After 9 years, we're done. Phoned in an order, went down to get it only for the order, never been placed, waited another 30 min while we were in stock, and got home to find the order was wrong. Back to Jinky's only manager to argue with me about the refund. Inattentive and incompetent employees at ridiculous prices. Not anymore.

I genuinely want to keep coming here, but it's hard to justify paying $15 for a simple burger, and then an additional 4% on top of that to help keep the business afloat? It feels like I won’t be returning. An update on 12/6: I had some friends visiting, and they insisted we go for a late breakfast and watch some football. I felt the need to warn them that the TV behind the bar has been out of service for over a year. The bartender served 22-ounce beers, but with about 3 inches of foam on top. Three beers and three breakfast burgers ended up costing $75. While the burgers were decent, it felt excessive to spend close to $100, including tip, for what we received. The staff seemed untrained in pouring drinks, and the lack of a working TV, coupled with what appeared to be poor management, left a lot to be desired. I understand the challenges faced by the restaurant industry today, but $100 for the experience we had is something I really have to question. On my last visit, 10/16/2022, dinner was disappointing as well. I paid $48 with a tip for a Turkish sandwich that cost $20 but only came with five tiny slices of turkey and a meager amount of avocado. If you’re the owner, you really need to explain this. It’s embarrassing to serve something like that for $20. I'm willing to give places a chance, but I honestly don't see how anyone would expect us to come back if this is the standard we can expect each time.

This is an amazing spot for breakfast, brunch, or dinner. The bar has a really cool vibe, and the lunches are both healthy and delicious. It's extremely toddler-friendly. Alan and his team have done an excellent job with the menu. I would love to see the return of the mung beans and rice and the tofu-pita sandwich!

I ordered the most delicious Eggs Benedict, and I was happy to customize my order for an extra charge. The staff was wonderful and very friendly!

Breakfast this morning was Awesome! Outstanding Customer Service, Outstanding food. The Jinky?s Nitro Omelette was the best breakfast I have had in years, very spicy, very good. The personnel were Great, Fast and Friendly! And Great Coffee! Jinky?s seems to understand how important great customer service is to a great dining experience. We will be back, for sure!
