For dessert, we tried the wine ice cream, which was also nicely presented and extremely tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant.
This hidden gem in Westfort offers delicious food, excellent service, and a selection of Sleeping Giant beers on tap. The cozy pub atmosphere provides a stunning view of Mt. McKay through the windows.
Never been.went with 4 other friends who had a ( mostly ) good dining experience .service . Worst service we've experienced anywhere in a long time.Waited awhile to place food orders, and longer still for food, considering only a few tables occupied. Waitress very unfriendly, looked bored as hell to be there. Never came back to check to see if everything ok...which it wasn't. I had the pan fried pickeral. Fish dry...and tasted fiishy. I love pickeral because it doesn't have a strong fishy flavour, only seems to get like that when it's old. A friend had the hot chicken sandwich, chicken also dry. Even with all the gravy on it. When the Waitress FINALLY showed up again to take our plates,we told her to pass on to the chef about our food complaints. She didn't apologize for the food, had a real "don't care"attitude. A few friends asked about dessert, waitress didn't offer it. They ordered the chocolate cheesecake and ice cream. Cake came. Didn't look like cheesecake, looked like very dry chocolate cake. Which it was. The friend beside me couldn't even take an end piece off with her fork,it was that hard. Another said ice cream tasted freezer burnt. We even had to ask for our bills when waitress finally came back. She left for several minutes, came back with pad and pen to ask everyone what they had to drink. To be fair, drinks were ordered from a different waiter. But still. Waited a bit again til she returned with bills.said no charge for supposed cheesecake. No smile,no personality. Normally, I'd return poorly cooked food ,but figured would take forever for a new meal. Won't go back.
I used to go here because they had decent gluten free options at a fairly reasonable price (such as a daily special of pork chop, mashed potato and a vegetable for around $12.) But now the only gluten free choice is a hamburger on a gluten free bun, which cost me the exorbitant price of $20 plus tax. The patty was homemade and very good, but as I'm not much of a hamburger fan I'll be eating elsewhere in future.
Stopped here several time for lunch and enjoyed it every time. The lunch special is a reasonable price, and the staff are friendly. Definitely recommend.
