The food was good and the servings large and tasty. It is the only place to eat for quite a distance, and as such is crowded at peak times such as lunch time. As a result there is often quite a queue to wait to order. Once ordered, however, the food arrived in a reasonable time.
Stressed out and rude stuff cannot cope with the influx of customers at lunch time. Need to either get more efficient staff or extra staff. Waited a long time to get order taken and then a long time to get served. Politely asked how the order was going a blonde lady who seems to do most of the food preparation rudely said "There is only one of me. You will have to wait. Capeesh!" I was going to fire back but thought better off writing it up on Trip Advisory. Food is also very over priced for basic food because there is no other cafes around for 30km. My advice is to avoid this place all together and bring a picnic lunch where you can sit on the lawns and enjoy the beautiful views of the giant space dishes.
Husband and I visited mid morning and decided to have a late breakfast. Tasty, hot toasted sandwiches and large, super cold milkshakes.......but the scones! YUM! Will come back again just for the scones alone. Great cafe, lovely staff.
Our lunch was a wonderful improvement from my last visit a few years ago. The range and quality of food is great for a small cafe attached to a tourist venue. The service was prompt and the portions generous.
