The Local Kitchen And - Tifton

I rushed over to LOCAL, eager to experience a taste of Tifton, having read online that it would be open until 9:30. However, I arrived at 8:40 only to find the doors closed. After waiting for a while, a polite young man informed me that they had decided to close early. I understand that Wednesdays might not be the busiest night in downtown Tifton, but I was really disappointed, especially since I wanted to support a local establishment. Perhaps I’ll give it another shot in the future, but I’m not sure.

The restaurant was empty when we arrived, but we had to leave at 6:40 PM because they were fully booked with reservations. I explained that we just wanted to enjoy a nice meal before heading back out. I ended up leaving with $100, which I could have spent there.

During our overnight stay while traveling, we decided to stop by, even without a reservation, and were pleased to find it bustling with diners. We started with the smoked fish dip appetizer, which was absolutely fantastic! For my main course, I ordered a steak while my partner chose the catch of the day. Both dishes were excellent, but my steak was truly exceptional—perfectly cooked with a nice crust on the outside and medium rare on the inside. The service was attentive, the food was delicious, and we enjoyed a lovely selection of wine as well. Overall, a great experience!

Very high quality dishes, but with a very limited menu. It lies in the spirit of a meat and three southern restaurants. Excellent cocktails and bar menu.

I heard great things about the food here and we tried to go on both a Friday and Saturday night. Friday they were closed for an event, and Saturday the door said 'Closed until Wednesday '. We tried calling multiple times each day, but it just goes straight to voicemail and there is nothing on their message recording letting you know they are closed. Seems like the only way to find out is to show up and hold your breath.
