We were tried by the menu and the beautiful decoration of the website to spend Christmas evening in this restaurant. Unfortunately, they were not professional enough to manage a few orders and this night apparently hired occasional waiters who did their best but not able to meet a minimum of service quality. Food orders took forever and the dishes were quite standard.
We really wanted to have a vegetarian meal and this restaurant has some options. We had the veggie lasagne and the ravioli with pumpkin, ricotta and nuts with a delicious sauce (salsa pink . The portions are smaller than what you usually get in Argentina (which is usually too much for me, but enough). The staff is very friendly and they have color pencils on each table so that you can color in a mandala while waiting for your meal: fun to see all adults coloring.
What a great find. It was not tried by the street front, but a bit further there was an entrance into her beautiful courtyard. A single waitress that manages many tables meant you had to wait, but it was worth it. We had a liter of natural lemonade sin azuca, bread and cheese while we wait for our decoy and salad. Both were amazing! The salad had hot cherry tomatoes, hot pear slices, hot almonds, carrot razors salad and roquette? The Tamale were mild.
We arrived at noon in Tilcara with a burning hot sun upon our heads. We spotted La Chacana with its small terrace as an oasis!! And indeed it was!! The juices were great, the salads we had were very tasty and finally we had the best espresso in North Argentina! A really great place!!
