Update 5/22: A new location near the Timonium Fairgrounds is set to open in June 2022. In my previous review of the old spot in York, I found it to be an exceptional Asian restaurant in a strip mall. It's straightforward, no-nonsense dining that caters to what suburban Asian customers desire. The staff here has been efficient for many years. This is hands down the best Chinese restaurant in Baltimore. Chinese and Taiwanese families travel from afar for the Peking duck, which is made with high-quality Amish duck from Lancaster. If you're feeling adventurous, they offer American Chinese dishes with a rural twist. The appetizers are delightful, featuring unique options like paper-wrapped chicken (a soy sauce chicken wing wrapped in foil), scallion pancakes, and house-made noodles. The chef personally selects fresh ingredients every afternoon, so you can't go wrong with the garlic Szechuan string beans—they're amazing!
One of the best Chinese foods and prizes I've ever been, always my favorites to even know that there's a 25-30mins drive away. I can't wait until she finally back in the april 2022 for almost closed for 2 years. in any case you have to go to the restaurant!
I've been dining at this restaurant for thirty years, and during that time, I've raised three children with weekly dinners at the Szechuan House. Overall, the food is the best Chinese cuisine I've ever had, and it's consistently excellent. Sure, there might be a night when the spring rolls aren't as crispy as usual, or a dish might not taste quite right, but if you're looking for a Chinese dining experience where 99% of the time the food is impeccable, this is the place for you. The service is really great, although there may be a server or two who isn’t quite up to par with the others. The sushi is almost always perfect and surpasses what you find at most sushi restaurants. The interior may feel a bit dated, but I appreciate that they invest in the food and keep prices reasonable. We'll be back next week!
I had not had Chinese in over a year and thought I would treat myself today. I ordered the Happy Family and veg egg rolls. SOOO disappointed the Happy Family, had lobster shells in it and no LOBSTER. The seafood that should have been in the meal was nonexistent. Both the main meal and the egg rolls were dripping in grease!I can go another few years without eating Chinese again!Very disappointed, this was my families favorite for a long time.
