Though the name is not some typical Italian name one imagines, whoever is responsible for the pasta seems to be quite a specialist. We asked for...the carbonara for my daughter and I to share and I must admit, at this moment, I don't quite recall what else everybody ordered though I think the inlaw-couple who was with us ordered risotto. Summarizing our experience: expect for the pasta to take quite a while to be ready, but to be served perfectly. We didn't stay for dessert, but hope to return to Tiradentes and try more of Gourmeco's food.
I had a perfectly nice meal here. Nothing memorable, but everything was just fine. Given where you are, it is good. However, were it not in the middle of nowhere it would be just mediocre. The prices are exaggerated (about BRL per dish) for...the location and considering what is offered euro (about USD) for a plate of cappelletti with braciole in tomato sauce, a risotto with a few pieces of shrimp, and a cheap bottle of wine is too much. Service was nice and the atmosphere pleasant. Portions were reasonable. It's a perfectly decent restaurant and better than most of the Italian you'll get in Brazil, but overall nothing special and not worth the expense.
Had a very honest pasta dish at this simple corner restaurant. Service was warm and friendly. I recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a break from the traditional Mineiro food.
Umberto welcomed us in a Monday afternoon with a big smile and an invitation to try one of the best fusion food, Italian and mineira' we've had in Tiradentes. The coxinha de jaca' is superb. Tapioca bricks' melt in your mouth. Focaccia perfectly seasoned with...delicious tomatoes and mozzarella di bufala'. star polpettone with tagliatelle, excellent Minas' cheeses risotto with pork shank completed the meal. I was amazed by the Italian beer menu, around options to choose from. Great experience. Grazzie mille, Umberto!
One can say that eating in Gourmeco is like eating in Europe and that's totally true. Humberto, the owner, is an Italian guy dedicated in bringing the Italian food taste in a cozy and small restaurant, using local and Italian ingredients. we ordered tapioca cubes...for appetizer and for main dishes risotto with pumpkin and dried meat and the polpetone, both superb. For dessert a delicious pannacota. price for two people with water and soft drinks : BRL
