I don't leave bad reviews typically but I felt I had to for this place. My partner and I went here 2 years ago and paid quite a lot for portion sizes that were very very small. It was about 40 Australian dollars for 2 small appetizers which were bread and soup and small bowl of hot oil with a few pieces of potato and mushrooms. When I say I few a few pieces, I mean in total there was probably a quarter of a potato. It was very disappointing and me and my partner had to go to 711 after to fill up.
The portion sizes at this restaurant are very small. The guacamole appeared to be made from only a fraction of an avocado, and the wine glasses were only half full. We spent 5,000 yen on 2 small tapas dishes and some wine, but left feeling hungry. This is the first negative review I have ever given to a vegan restaurant, but I feel that this place is overcharging customers for what they are getting. Unfortunately, I would not return to this restaurant.
This tapas-style restaurant was one the best meals I experienced in Tokyo. The staff was very nice, there was a comforting, social vibe at the counter, and the food was absolutely amazing. The seitan teriyaki in particular shouldn't be missed! Price wise, the house wine is ¥600, 1 teriyaki skewer is ¥300, 4 gyozas are ¥500; perfectly reasonable for Tokyo in my opinion. There are about 10-15 tapas options in the menu. Location is on the 4th floor, the first 3 floors being the Doutor café.
I found this place after arriving in Tokyo at 7pm and feeling the need to just eat and relax. Kiboko is on the 4th floor of a building over Doutor coffee shop, and you have to climb 4 flights of stairs, but it's worth it. It's a small bar overlooking a busy street, and most of the food is finger food intended for sharing, but as a solo traveller I found 2 plates to be a good meal. I had the seitan skewer and the coriander gyoza, plus an organic beer. The flavours were just wonderful, especially the skewer, which I don't recommend for sharing as you'll want to eat the whole thing! The staff are lovely too.
