I visited this store after seeing the listing, but it proved a little difficult to navigate as a vegan. The drinks had milk, there was shaved ice with cream/ice cream and the main item on sale were castella cakes with eggs and milk. Their website shows several Taiwanese tofa and taro ball deserts, but these are not displayed at the store and the menu (only in Japanese) didn't specify which were vegan. After asking (in Japanese, the server didn't speak any English), the server struggled to understand veganism and checked several items with an allergen sheet before pointing out something I could eat. I ended up with a sweet taro balls pudding (famous sweet of Jiufen) which was nice. Updated from previous review on 2023-08-17

Has a menu that shows which drinks can be replaced with soy milk. I got the brown sugar milk tea with soy milk and it was good! The soy milk has a very distinct soy taste and the drink isn’t super sweet and you can’t adjust the sweetness level. The tapioca was nice and soft and chewy even though I went 15 minutes before they closed. Yummy drink.

This place has some vegan options like bubble tea that can be made with soy milk. The soy milk has a pretty strong taste, but it was quite tasty!
