Market Street Cafe - Tomball

This was our first visit to Market Street Cafe. I will say the service was very nice. And I did try the Coconut Lime Margarita, it was pretty good. I ordered a chicken fried steak based on 1 review and was very disappointed. It had zero flavor. It was very bland. Same with the gravy (which costs extra if you want it). My date ordered the fried catfish and it was a thin layer of soggy fried cornmeal on catfish. We were highly disappointed because the reviews seemed pretty good. But it could be because, when you offer people a chance to win $500 to leave a review, you may get false good reviews. So here is a REAL review. The service is great but unfortunately the food is very bland and soggy.

Should have checked the reviews before coming. The food is absolutely average at best. I ordered the meatloaf , which was clearly reheated with visible dried fat/lard on the side. The green beans were canned, 100 percent with zero seasoning. The mashed potatoes were instant and no gravy was served. I asked for gravy and it was heavily seasoned with pepper. The portions were small. The service was adequate. Overall very disappointing. I would rather have eaten at home. Atmosphere is nice and the patio is relaxing.

When the manager came over to ask if everything was okay, I expressed my dissatisfaction, pointing out the issue with the buns. She assured me she would resolve the problem, but instead of bringing out a fresh burger, she provided me with cold buns so I could assemble my own burger from the leftovers. That was quite disappointing! I cannot recommend this place. The customer service left much to be desired, and I will be advising my fellow airline pilot colleagues to steer clear as well. While our server was very friendly, the manager did not apologize or take any steps to address the situation, which left a sour note on our visit.

This was my first time visiting, and I was really impressed! The interior decor made for a very inviting atmosphere, and I especially loved the vintage Cola dispenser. The outdoor seating area was lovely as well, especially with the perfect weather we had that day. The staff were extremely friendly, and the food was both delicious and satisfying. The drinks were also fantastic!

Boudin on my burger? Yes, please! My son and I both tried the Boudin burger, and we loved it. The burger was cooked to perfection, and the boudin was delicious on its own – I even had to take a piece off to taste before diving in! I went with chips while my son opted for the fries, which were also fantastic. The service was fast and friendly. Thanks for a wonderful lunch!
