Water Street Grille - Toms River

My company had a happy hour/Meet the new CEO on 7/31. I called on 7/12 to reserve the inside area as we were expecting 25-30 people. I spoke to Alex who stated no problem, we 'll set up tables and have a fully staff bar with waitress . I called again on 7/29 to confirm and Alex said you 're all set . When I arrived at the restaurant on 7/31 at 4:30, no employee had any knowledge of my group reservation. I asked to speak with Alex; one employee said she doesn 't come in until 5:00 . After 5:00 I asked again and Alex never came out to speak with me. One of the bartenders said we could have our group sit at the other end of the restaurant but the bar located in that section was not open. We ordered drinks and food with this bartender and was told there are no waitresses to help. In the meantime, we see 15-20 of them going out on the deck and assisting a party of teachers inside. Myself and my HR Director had to run back and forth with our drinks for our group numerous times. We spent over $600 in drinks and food last night; we will never have another company event here. Our company are regulars every summer but no longer. To have a large group and not provide at least one waitress is completely unacceptable and downright disrespectful.

Great comfort food, service was excellent. I've been here quite a few times with family, friends and business acquaintances.

Was there today 07/23/24 gross the amount of Flys inside the restaurant landing Iin your hair dead one on sills of windows no one cleans them off . Done here if this is what's for lunch can't imagine what flying,walking around the dinner table.....

Not our first time at Water Street. Great place to go to eat, see a band, and enjoy the views. This time, however, I ordered a California burger with coleslaw and no onions. I got it with onions and French fries instead. Then, I had to wait for the corrections while everyone else started eating. This time, I wasn't happy with the service. Each time we asked for something, we waited and waited.
