Salsa was good. Chile Verde wasn't what I expected. I'm used to tender pork in Chile but this was asada
I am writing this, as we have eaten here many times in the past and have always been extremely satisfied. However, on this trip, that was not to be the case. My wife had a large margarita, which was extremely weak, compared to El Porto in Lawrence Kansas. For dinner she had a Chile Riano, which was so hot that she could not eat it. I, on the other hand, had a scotch and water, so they say, which was very weak and did not taste like Dewers which I ordered. In fact, the waitress did not even know what a scotch and water was. For dinner I had stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon. The bacon was so overdone that I almost needed to break it with a hammer. I’m not going to detail the other three persons dinners but it was a similar experience. I am writing this as the owner of the restaurant had an excellent thing going sometime ago I would have compared their dinners to anyone in Lawrence or Kansas City. I would certainly like to see them get back to their original recipes and cooking style as they were the best!
This place was friendly and quiet. The seasonings were right on the money. Had the Mexican street tacos carnal asada and El pastor loved that there wasn't any pineapple in the meat. Rice was crispy not to my liking but could have been a bad timing thing.
Great food. Seating options all seem crowded together.
