Freemasons - TOODYAY

If you take a look at my previous reviews, you'll see that I enjoy visiting local pubs, and the Freemasons Hotel in Toodyay is among the better ones. I ordered a classic pub meal—a steak burger with chips—and I was pleased to find that the steak was a surprisingly decent cut, cooked perfectly. The rest of the burger met all expectations for a venue of this kind, and the chips were excellent. The interior bar felt a bit dark and worn, but sitting outside was quite enjoyable. I’ll definitely return on my next trip through Toodyay.

Last Saturday was a beautiful day, so I decided to drive to Toodyay for lunch at Freemasons. I ordered two seafood platters, and to my disappointment, they were small and heavily battered without much flavor. Overall, it was one of the worst meals I've ever had.

The first time here and enjoyed a beautiful grilled snapper with beautiful crispy chips and fresh salad, and hubby a delicious homemade burger. the food could not owe. service was nice, although a little slow with just a bar counter server for eating and drinking. may be frustrating when they are in a hurry, but if they are not, can highly recommend from our one experience. kleptomonica

Second I've visited the Freemason, first time food was fantadtic and on time , today though is another story, chips looked like they'd been cooked in oil six months old and they completely forgot my mates order! Not good

Lunch. A very disappointing meal. It took over 40 minutes to get our meals and when we did, I had asked for no salad and got tomato juice all through the salad and chips. The chips were horrible, the oil it was cooked in was obviously old oil, The chicken parma was nice but was oily and started to get soggy from too much sauce on top. Other people had steak and it was either over cooked, under cooked or very chewy. After waiting 40mins it wasn't worth sending it back and waiting again. Don't think I will be making the trip from midland again
