I went to this restaurant for breakfast today after reading the positive Yelp reviews, and it was amazing! It was some of the best breakfast I've ever had.
I was traveling for work in this area and wasn't sure where to go for a meal, so I turned to Yelp for help and found the previous review (which was very helpful, thank you!).
Ive been to a few Sri Lankan restaurants and this is one of the best. We had the buffet on Saturday night which was $27.50 per person. The food was delicious and very enjoyable. There was nothing we could fault. The food was cooked well...More
Few authentic Sri Lankan restaurants may match its quality, galaxy of tastes, ambiance and home-style cooking. A family run restaurant with help from volunteers, Cinnamons is a welcome addition to Western Sydney's smile high restaurants. Meaning to visit for months, I finally made it yesterday to our table of 8 of which four were kids. The warmly lit restaurant put on display much of the anticipated treats including sprites, dhal, fish and chicken curry, sambol, rice and a few local treats which kept a steady stream of sweat pouring down my bald head until the small cubes of caramel custard and some Sri Lankan sweet treat came to my rescue. The fish curry was a true gem with just the right levels of salt and the blend of spices was perfect. I suspect the spices were fresh as you could taste the separate flavours. Our kids too managed to enjoy some of the lesser spiced dishes but for me - the real treat was the wave of passion that brought each dish to the table. In the open kitchen volunteers including the owner, his wife and kids all pitched in to cook as as fast the food was disappearing from the hot trays. There was a rare sincerity in each morsel -- something you don't find in many restaurants and that somehow made the food tastier. Naturally, the evening was a sort of home-style event with small banter and jovial laughter that made it one to remember. Of course, much could be improved at least in so far as providing dishes that are not spicy at all -- for kids, at least. I wish the family that runs the restaurant God's grace if only for the compassion, love and hard worth they put into the food. Gratitude also to the family who joined mine, for this treat.
