Stopped by for some take away on a Saturday night it wasn't that busy about 6 groups. Staff were friendly and meals came out fairly quickly. The menu like most Chinese restaurants was quite extensive but we just had simple dishes such as sweet and sour pork and seafood rice but they were cooked well. Even though we were only there for take away there didn't seem to be a lot of atmosphere in the dining area.
The waitress spent the whole time on her phone. We were the only people there but still couldn't get served. The restaurant is dirty and the food was completely inedible. We had one bite of each dish then left it untouched but no one cared or inquired if it was okay. The absolute worst Chinese restaurant I have ever dined at, and I have been to hundreds of them. I would rather give it zero stars, one star is way too generous.
Every time we go to China Kitchen we come away satisfied, and happy. This is honestly one of Toowong's best kept secrets. It has become quiet the past couple months, which scares me! I would never want this restaurant to close down. Every dish we have had has been phenomenal. The Yu Shang Shredded Pork is my favorite dish- the sauce is delicious, the pork thin and tender, and has these awesome black mushrooms and bamboo shoots. These days we explore and try new dishes. We had spicy fish and cabbage in this hot pot, and the Chinese green vegetables and mushrooms. It was excellent. They are BYO which is great on the wallet. The service is just fine for the type of restaurant it is. We get water and an ice bucket the minute we walk in. We always get prompt service. Also it is frequented by a lot of Chinese people, so judging by the clientele the Chinese food is GOOD! Definitely go there!
Have been looking forward to Honey Chicken for a while now and went to China Kitchen because it was good last time, but it's soggy with shriveled lettuce in the bottom signs of a microwave reheat to me!! : sadly, they've lost a customer
