The staff were attentive but in no way obtrusive and were the professional background to a great celebration. The meals were top class and appeared in good time with no fuss - a credit to the professional approach of the whole restaurant.Gip's provided an excellent venue and very high level of service that made for a great extended family celebration. Well done Gip's !!
My husband and I had an early booking and were surprised how busy the restaurant was at only 6pm. My pork belly and scallop entree was generously sized and absolutely delicious. My main of beetroot gnocchi was equally scrumptious and overall we were very impressed with the food, wine and service. Thank you Gips, we will come back again when back in town.
An beautiful old Queensland house that has been renovated and named after the one time owner's Jack Russell dog. The food at both lunch and dinner was awesome and well worth visiting twice in a day. For lunch I had the crispy pork salad and for dinner the hand made ravioli, with king prawns and a Moreton Bay Bug. Simply delicious!!
We wanted a place to eat where they weren't televising the State of Origin match, so perhaps we hadn't set the bar too high, but we were really impressed by everything at Gip's Restaurant. The setting - the historic Clifford House is quiet and beautiful, and the wait-service - provided by a lovely young woman who hailed from Munich, was attentive but not intrusive. The food was divine! We enjoyed dishes we described as Asian fusion, matched with a lovely red from the Italian north. A truly memorable night in beautiful Toowoomba. We hadn't visited Toowoomba (or Gip's) before, but we have plans to return to both soon.
During a day trip to Toowoomba we called into Gips Restaurant for lunch. Gips is located within the historic Clifford House homestead and takes its name from a small dog that once lived at the property over a century ago. We were warmly welcomed and promptly seated by a window adjacent to the well manicured gardens. Staff were friendly, professional and drinks arrived soon after ordering. The menu is short but has selections to appeal to most diners and is complemented by a reasonable wine and beverage menu. The food was absolutely Delicious and servings were more than generous. The Restaurant's story is well worth a read and the owners clearly put as much thought into naming it as they do running a better than average eatery. So if ever you find yourself in Toowoomba and you're looking for somewhere to eat you could do far worse that visit Gips Restaurant it was exceptional, cheers.
