It's a favorite spot in my neighborhood, and the only time there's drama is when my crazy girlfriend is getting worked up. The customers are mostly blue collar workers who are friendly and don't stare for too long. The staff is welcoming, social, and even remembers your drink preferences. There's someone there who hogs the jukebox with songs like Matchbox 20 and Van Halen, so be aware of that. Other than that, there's a smoking patio, plenty of seating, and a variety of drinks available. What more could you ask for?!
Yes, this restaurant may not be the fanciest, but that's what sets it apart. It's a hidden gem. The atmosphere is cozy and the beers are served ice cold. They even provide a koozie to keep your hand warm while you enjoy your drink. You may encounter some interesting characters, from couples showing affection to people playing games on the floor. Whether you're a local or just passing through Topeka on I-70, don't miss the chance to experience the unique charm of 20's West.
Riegel's 20s West is a pretty good place, my only complaint is that the beers are too cold, LOL.
Drinks are cheap and strong. get them always great service from the girls. 3 billard tables and large terrace. and they actually stay open til 2am, which is beautiful when everyone at the beginning of these days closed.
The atmosphere wasn't great when we first got there, but it drastically improved. The food was ok at best. The waitress that was there were fantastic, and the bartender improved once things slowed down for her. All in all we had a great time playing music and having a couple of drinks. What better way to wind down on a Sunday.
