Astoria - Torino

Where do I start with this place...... Initially recommended by a friends girlfriend....now this couple are usually into long romantic walks, holding hands, consisting texting and public kissing so I will be totally honest I was not expecting much... However thought as we had little local knowledge of Torino we would go for cheeky drink and see where it took us.... First order was for 4 Peroni beers...each was served in different sizes glasses so it 's a retro place and I like that, and €3 a beer I will take that on the chin. As the night goes on you get to go down to the basement, €8 gets you entry and a cocktail or €3 for straight up entry.....the music was loud and current and all in all a good vibe going down....the place has strobe lighting that leaves you unable to see clearly and make informed decisions about what people actually look like, so a little tip is make sure you get a look at the girl out of the basement otherwise you might wake up and be like... I didn 't tell me I didn 't ! Inside there is people from all over the world, usa, Netherlands, Iceland I even think there was someone from as far away as Liverpool but due to the strobe lighting I couldn 't make out if they were male or female....they definitely had something in their hand though!! The place has a bouncer on the door of an evening, I did witness him take some Dutch girl down the side alley for some free shots, shots of what I don 't know but she was licking her lips when she came back and I was informed she had a certain aroma coming from her....so make of that what you will! Overall the cocktails were decent enough, you get what you pay for, music was good and defo worth a visit!

We went there on a Sunday for brunch because of the bagels and cream cheese. Very nice selection of bagel sandwiches and cocktails. Small place on a small street. Park near the river Po if you can and walk up the street. Dont let the trash put you off. Be sure to call ahead to make a reservation. Even if you dont speak Italian they will usually understand what you want if you say brunch and how many people. Good luck.

Some people say that this place has great cocktails, well, they are lying... There is the dancefloor downstairs which is packed all the time, and it is stinky most of the time because the ac is not working properly... But it is one of the best places to meet new people...

Tonight we visited the Astoria Bar to have a drink and spend the evening. We had a realy good time, listening to good music, enjoying several drinks and the Turin nightlife. Absolutely worth paying a visit

If you like bagels, you should visit the place! I was also in a couple of concerts! Not the best acoustic ever but was fun!
