Extensive and imaginative vegan menu. Thoroughly recommend the special offer of a choice of any 3 antipasti, a primi or secondi, and a dolce. By sharing each other's meals we got an amazing array of different dishes which we wouldn't have got if we'd just gone for primi and secondi. Good portions of food too we left very happy after a wonderful meal!
I have been here twice now in August 2017 and in August 2018. Pros: The menu has a variety of vegan and organic wines. I chose 1/4 litre of Sicilian white wine which was delicious and great value. Personally, I found the quality of the food outstanding. The starter I had was unbelievably delicious a salami meat substitute, rocket, lemon, olive oil and parmesan. The carbonara is absolutely amazing and portion sizes are good too. Coming all the way from the UK for the carbonara, the owner was nice enough to make me it even though it wasn't on the menu at the time. Cons: The service is slow compared to normal restaurants. In 2017 there seemed to be more staff, whereas this year the owner was cooking and serving on her own. Although it wasn't too busy when we were there (8pm), I can't imagine how slow it would be if it were a fully booked Saturday night. The decor could be updated but it wasn't really a massive problem for me. Overall, I'd recommend coming here if you are a vegan foodie. I'd come early so you manage to get a quicker (hopefully) table service.
Food is ok and prices quite good. The organic wine of the house was also good. The lady who served us was very nice but the service was slow (I guess they are understaffed in the kitchen . We waited around 30 minutes per dish with a total of 3 hours in the restaurant... don't go if you are in hurry :
I came here with my non-vegan, Italian boyfriend and we both enjoyed it. We shared 2 starters: a veggie pate (ok) and a mushroom/artichoke pastry (amazing). He had carbonara and I had a vegan lasagne. The portions were not huge, so get a starter or a 2nd course if you're hungry, but both were very good. Some nice wine at a good price too. The lady who served us was very kind and friendly and it seems she also speaks French and English. I would definitely recommend this place for vegan travellers or veggie-curious alike.
