Four of us stayed here for three nights. The owners are THE most consummate hosts. Their chef is really top notch so we not only enjoyed the sumptuous, generous breakfast spread every day but also eat a superb dinner there every night. Our rooms were as good as everything else. We cannot recommend Pilapalucci highly enough. And its really great value for money too.
Very special food, magical place, super nice hospitality by the chef staff. Worth getting there for lunch/dinner even if you don't stay for a night
Peaceful and historical house in the history in the midst of olive groves, this place is run by a dame whose family has lived here for five hundred years. it is charming with beautiful rooms and tasty eating the chef in catering for vegetarian and cheese guardians. the professor is an ingenious and knowledgeable host. they need a car. this place is located in the middle of nowhere and tho a great base for the exploration of matera etc. local trains and taxis are not present.
We stayed at the masseria for 3 nights. The masseria is surrounded by olive and almond trees which creates a relaxing atmosphere. The room itself was clean and stayed very cool during the Italian heat thanks to thick walls and a fan! The property even has a nice pool with deck chairs that invited us to hang out before dinner. The owner family are the highlight of the masseria: they made us feel very welcome and gave us lots of recommendations for things to do during the day. The other highlight was the restaurant where we had dinner every night. The food (3 courses appetizers) and wine tasted great and were reasonably priced. Beware that there are a few cats on the property.
