I ordered something that I thought was soup but got a lovely vermicelli dish instead and I didn’t regret it! It was so tasty ! I’ll definitely be back to try their other items. The employees are friendly and most can speak at least 2 languages. There’s a good amount of seating although I wouldn’t recommend large groups. Maybe 6 would be my limit otherwise they might have to break you up at different tables.
This restaurant is fantastic, it is popular amongst locals who love the food here. They offer a variety of choices for your meal. I particularly enjoyed the sliced chili provided instead of just chili sauce. I ordered the roasted pork, spring rolls, and cold noodles. The addition of chili and garlic in the fish sauce made the dish even more delicious.
I've been here for twenty years and the taste of the Bun Mi Phuc Kien remains the same. I was glad to see that they only increased the price on their menu items because of the pandemic inflation in contrast to other restaurants that increased 30-50%. This hole-in-wall family small restaurant carries the traditional Phuc Kien noodle authenticity from the same owner as long as I know this place.
The food at this restaurant tastes great, perhaps the most authentic Vietnamese dishes I've had in Toronto. The owner was very friendly. It's now one of the top-rated spots near Chinatown.
