Everything tasted wonderful. For dessert we had a strange, but delicious black sesame soup. It was served warm with almond cookies. All of this....at an affordable price. Oh yeah, the location is great, too.
Locatoin is good in downdown, dish quality need improved. however i like the service there, staff very helpful and effective.
One of my favourite places to go for dim sum. The quality of the food here is unparalleled to any other Chinese dim sum restaurant in the city. The restaurant has rather high ceilings and is large. If you are a dim sum fan, I would highly recommend.
This is a must try restaurant for Cantonese in Toronto. Very high quality, authentic, means and they only use the best ingredients. They're shellfish is the best quality, which is hard to find in many Cantonese restaurants. The decor is a little tacky, in terms of the dining tables and chairs, however the marbled floor to ceiling walls and restrooms is impressive! I've got many stories about this restaurant. The food is unbeatable in comparison to other restaurants. Lah Wah Heen is comparable, but still a bit behind CPFD in quality. Don't overlook this restaurant! Best in the downtown!!
My friend and I have a favourite dim sum restaurant in the heart of the City. We've been to the Crown Princess many times because we are treated so well, the food is impeccable, the dining room is gorgeous and the price is right. First of all, the decor: Huge crystal chandeliers line the ceiling. The beautiful table settings also set the mood. And the dining room is bathed in sunshine from a wall of windows facing Bay Street. Many of the patrons are Chinese, always a good sign. When I walked in the maitre d' called out hello! Then another server, who knows us well, brought a pot of tea, forks and knives (which sometimes are a necessity for us), individual mustard and hot sauce pots (one for each), glasses of ice water - you get the picture - they care about your experience and want to make you comfortable. Then she asked if we wanted her to order for us - yes please. 5 dishes: grilled beef ribs, mushroom dumplings, shrimp balls, pea sprouts and vegetable dumplings. Yum. Tables are large for groups of 8 or smaller ones for 4. We rarely make reservations for a weekday lunch but I suggest you do make them for dinner and weekends. All said and done; $50. This restaurant is highly regarded and there is no mistaking why. It's the best dim sum in town. Go back? Probably for the rest of my life!
