It's a treat to taste authentic Italian cuisine. Mama is always in the kitchen, and I always make sure to give her a hug when I visit – she's a sweetheart. Her children sometimes help out, and her husband is a constant presence. The decor, with its classic checkered tablecloths, has remained unchanged for as long as I can remember. Whether you choose to sit on the side patio during the summer or inside, you're sure to feel like part of the family. They also offer gluten-free and whole wheat options for those who require them. I've been a loyal customer for over a decade, and the quality of the food has never wavered. The prices are very reasonable for the homemade, tasty dishes offered. I highly recommend paying this place a visit and savoring the experience. Enjoy! Elayne
When our family were tourists in Toronto we were visiting nearby Casa Loma and by the time we finished it was late and we hadn't had supper. We looked for a place that didn't close at 10:00 and came across Da Maria. Da Maria is a family owned place and they shared with us that they had been in business 45 years. <br/ <br/ I got the feeling that they weren't expecting anyone to be ordering full suppers after 9:00 because they were unable to accommodate 3/5 of the things we ordered; however, we were pretty happy with the substitutions offered. I had cheese ravioli with rosé sauce and it was really delicious. The others had penne with Alfredo, spinach fettuccine with Alfredo, a cheese pizza and a Caesar salad. My husband said he wasn't crazy about the Alfredo, but I tried it and liked it. The kids all said they liked their food. I tried the Caesar salad and thought it could have used more garlic. Bread was served. A couple of dishes seemed to come with a mixed green and tomato salad, either that or they were making up for not having the dishes we wanted. The balsamic dressing was quite nice; even my daughter who rarely eats salad chomped on that one. <br/ <br/ Prices and potion sizes were good. Service time was quite slow; given the late hour this might be an anomaly. Servers were friendly. Atmosphere was clean and welcoming. It would be nice if the menu was more descriptive of what they were serving.
This restaurant has been around for years, but I consider it a local gem in the area. The pizza is good sure but the best things about it are the family feeling and the veal sandwiches. When you walk in from the side you are greeted by great smells and friendly service from everyone you encounter! If you are in the Bathurst and St. Clair area and in the mood for a delicious Italian meal then stop by for satisfaction. <br/ <br/ note I have only dined there once I mostly do takeout so I am not sure if the sit down experience is amazing (it was fine when I went though) but the food is actually very good you might even run into the families Nona cooking in the back!
I needed to quickly print, scan, and email some important inheritance paperwork IDs, and this restaurant was just what I needed. Staff member Jimmy was friendly, helpful, and made the whole process easy. Just like Arnold said, 'I'll be back!' Follow-up: I had to return again for another official document to be signed, and Jimmy once again provided excellent customer service. I am extremely satisfied with how easy he makes each visit.
Great services, friendly staff, very quick! Also, best place in the neighbourhood to go for passport pictures for little ones. They're very patient and kind. Took my 3 month old there and the picture was approved without any problems. I'd definitely recommend it to every parent!
