Our group arrived at different times, but the servers were attentive and took care of us well. There were many good choices of Dim Sum, although I am not an expert, I could tell there was a variety and I enjoyed what I ate. They could have put in a bit more effort to bring low-fat vegetarian options to our table (or suggest choices) when it was brought to their attention for one person in our group. However, there were plenty of other vegetarian options available.
This was easily our most disappointing dining experience in Canada (Montreal and Toronto) during our 9-day trip. We went for lunch on a Friday and it was packed, which is great when eating dim sum. However, the carts being pushed were not the options we...are focused on eating (ha gau, shu mai, chee cheong fun, sticky rice, char shu bao). The chicken feet cart and the Portuguese egg tart cart must have came by us 5 times though. A manager did try to help us get the chee cheong fun, but after he delivered it, he disappeared. If you go, make sure you get a table in the middle of the ballroom, otherwise, you might be eating your chopsticks.
We had a craving for Dim Sum so went for dinner at 5pm (to beat the rush) on a Saturday night. At first we couldn't figure out what was going on as many of the tables were set up with wine bottles and then the...server told us that they were also hosting a wedding party. Our food order arrived quickly and it was all excellent and moderately priced. But the real treat for us was watching the live band warm up and seeing the guests arrive. A wonderful peek into the Asian culture. We wished we could have stayed the entire night and shared in the fun party but we ate and lingered as long as we could. Interesting place, great food. Will go back either for another Saturday night or a more traditional Dim Sum brunch.
First time eating here and eating Dim Sum, nice variety of food. The place was quiet and spacious. The waiter was very helpful in letting us know how much food to choose. Some things were better than others. Don't get the steamed short ribs, all...they were was bones and fat, no meat. The broccoli was tasty, crowns were good but the entire stalk was tough eating.
This restaurant reminds me the Chinese restaurant for dim sum during the 80's back in HK, either the decoration, the dim sum trolley, or dim sum booth, which is hardly found in HK. Price was good, size was pretty big, and food was good too....Surprising this place was really busy though the style is dated. There was a long line-up during the weekend.
