I was pleased to see they had vegetarian options as well. I will definitely return to this location. While it could use a little updating, the food is definitely worth it!
I recently had the pleasure of trying the best and most authentic pupusas at El Pulgarcito. The pork, cheese, bean, and other varieties were all incredible. The staff was extremely friendly, kind, and humble. The prices were reasonable, especially considering the generous portion sizes. My only criticism would be regarding the tamales, which were a bit dry, possibly due to reheating. However, despite this minor issue, El Pulgarcito has become my go-to spot for delicious pupusas. I haven't felt the need to try other places, as this one truly stands out.
The atmosphere is great. The food is amazing. I've been craving pupusas since I first tried them, and these ones come pretty close.
On a Saturday afternoon it was not crowded. The service was prompt and polite by the owner. The pupusas are the specialty and did not disappoint. The soup which is served only on weekends was excellent. Completely homemade with yucca, tripe, cabbage, and potatoes. May be a bit too authentic for some tastes, but I loved it. Price was very reasonable for the quality and freshness. A gem.
This restaurant is uniquely the best atmosphere. Besides the food being absolutely amazing, delicious, and fresh, the owners are a very nice couple who work hard to share their joy in food with others. Very cozy and loving place to be. Good job!!!
