Came often to Gayley's for lunch, they have good sandwiches and soups. Would come back if I still worked in Toronto.

Excellent service, great small cafe atmosphere, fabulous breakfast! They serve their tea in a full-sized porcelain teapot (such a relief from those ubiquitous crappy metal ones). I even like their home fries and I am not a potato fan. It's in the heart of a great neighbourhood, too, so it's a nice place for a stroll.

My girlfriend and I visited Gayley's on the recommendation of a local. We went for breakfast. I had a Western omelette. It came with 2 pieces of toast and homemade hash browns. I have a relatively big appetite yet I had a hard time finishing my meal. One of the best omelettes I've ever had. She had a classic breakfast. She also enjoyed her meal. Service was great. There was a mix up with our friend's order so they offered us a 20% discount. It wasn't even a major issue. It was corrected immediately. Even without the discount, the price was still very average and fair. I will definitely be back for another omelette next time we are in Toronto.
