This place was alright, considering they butcher their own meat, their porterhouse didn't wow me. It didn't taste bad, just not memorable. Their braised brisket was pretty good though so that sort of made up for it. Their potato dishes was also pretty good to our surprise (not a meat dish). Overall, I would say I've had better steaks at this price point in Toronto.
Quality and attention to detail are evident at M'eat. The staff is genuine and articulate when explaining the menu and drink options. They create a fun atmosphere. Cam, the owner and chef, is incredibly skilled and passionate about his craft. I highly recommend M'eat for a delightful date night or celebration. Plus, they have a lovely back terrace!
We enjoyed a mixed greens salad with apples, a 16oz ribeye, and mac and cheese during our visit. Everything was quite good, with the beef clearly aged and of high quality. However, the mac and cheese truly stood out—it was exceptional, featuring Parmesan, truffle oil, and mushrooms. The prices were reasonable, the service was great, and the atmosphere was lovely. We highly recommend this restaurant. Although we haven’t tried the butcher shop yet, we are definitely interested in giving it a go next time.
A few friends and I dined here on Wednesday evening, and it was truly the best meat I've ever eaten. Chef Cam and the staff exceeded all expectations with their exceptional service! Order a porter and a beer, and you'll be reminiscing about this meal for a long time!
