Feedback gevenDefinitely excellent place for business lunch. Menu and service extra ordinary Lovely lovely waiters and superb cuisine. One better then another. Great place to be. Elegant and superb.
Came here for lunch with some co-workers and had an excellent Summerlicious meal. The space itself is nice and open, lots of natural light (meaning it can also get a little bit hot if it’s a sunny day). For the starter, I had the pork bun which was yummy. For my main meal I had chicken lettuce wraps. They were just alright- I’ve had better elsewhere to be honest. For dessert, I had the option with peaches and it was the best dessert I’ve had in a while. All in all, a great meal!
Business lunch for 3: Decor: B++Food: B- ( copy cat: use china town ingredients and add them to menu)Service : B+Manager/Boss: D - ( no smile , no thank you , kinda who careless attitude )Overall: CIf you don't need to see the four season centre , don't bother Seriously
Actually, Dining in a Glass Cube. It’s good. Good food, good service, good view. Well worth the $28 Summerlicious lunch price. To get to our 1:45 p.m. lunch we planned to take the subway south and around to Osgoode station and then stroll the short distance south to Momofuku. Of course line 1 was closed from Lawrence to Bloor so the leisurely transit became a crowded rush. All said, we not only made it on time but had time to say hello to Rising and its entourage of birds at the entrance. Since we ate here for Winterlicious we knew we could bypass the crowd just inside and proceed directly to the third floor (we took the stairs to the left but there is an elevator straight ahead). We were seated immediately, at a communal table with 3 others. My wife was a little put-off since, after we were seated, a couple was seated at an empty table for four by the window she inquired about when we arrived. They were soon joined by another couple and the others at our table finished up - so we had a big empty table to ourselves. She was mollified. The 3 courses of 3 choices Summerlicious menu makes it logistically easy for the staff, according to one server, but it’s busy. Service doesn’t suffer. We tried each of the buns (pork, eggplant) to start, both good, the pork was fatty but tasty – always a give-and-take it seems. The fish fry (haddock) arrived nicely presented; two smallish battered pieces leaning against each other beside a bed of basmati rice along with 3 halves of perfectly cooked baby bok choy. Very good and filling. The roasted rice cakes are best described as slightly chewy gnocchi. A pile in a bowl. Clearly, it’s hard to be artful with a pile of stuff. On the other hand, looks aren’t everything. The “stuff” was really good, spicy and very filling. The desserts were excellent –short cake – lots of strawberries – and peaches – thinly sliced, cooked but still with some resistance, and a perfectly sweet cake (almost too sweet for my wife but not sweet enough to trade with me). The bill was about twice as much as we expected ― perhaps the 3 glasses of Prosecco ($14, 5 oz) helped it along. On the way out say goodbye to Rising but don’t bother feeding the birds, they seem to be doing just fine – just like us.
We were a relatively large group and order a range of food. It was quite amazing. Certainly not an inexpensive restaurant but if you are not too hungry you'll be OK
