I didn't like the rice cakes because they had a sour flavor, but other people in my group did. The noodles were good but not as good as I expected. The pork noodles were better then the chicken ones also!! Though the pork buns were really good and I would definitely recommend it. The servers were great and the atmosphere was nice.
Lunch. One last time. I’ve been a regular of Momofuku over the years and when I read the news that they will be closing their doors permanently on December 23rd, I had visit this place one last time.In my opinion, this place offers the best Ramen and noodles in the city. The pork and shrimp buns are a great appetizer and a shared soft ice cream from Christina Tosi’s Milk Bar is a great way to finish off the meal. The place does not have the bustling vibe that it once had however, the quality of the food is great, the prices are reasonable, Post COVID conditions and the service was both friendly and efficient.I’m going to miss this place. Well worth a visit before they close.
Service was attentive and friendly. The chicken steam bun was delicious however the ramen was just mediocre compared to other spots in the city. Best part of the meal was the house made sauce for the buns simply delicious providing a mix of spicy and sweet!
However, the interior was modern and dimly lit, creating an intimate atmosphere despite the cafeteria-style seating. The noodle menu was quite limited, featuring only chicken and pork ramen, along with three types of mazemen. The food was flavorful but not particularly exceptional. We expected the buns ($7-9) to be similar to siopao, but they turned out to be tiny baos instead. The presentation left something to be desired, but the baos were surprisingly tasty. The pork ramen ($18) was somewhat bland, though the broth was decent, and the juicy pork was a highlight. The ginger scallion noodles ($16) were quite flavorful, and the chicken add-on ($7) was delicious. The service was excellent; our waitress was sweet and attentive, always refilling our water. Overall, I'm glad I got to experience this place before it closed, but given the blandness of some dishes and the underwhelming buns, I think one visit is sufficient.
I visited Momofuku for the first time in a few years since it's closing soon, and I wanted to go one last time before it shuts down (I live about an hour and a half away). We made the trip to Toronto just for dinner here. Our reservation was for three people at 8:30 PM, but we weren't seated until closer to 8:45. After that, we felt rushed to place our orders since the kitchen closes at 9 PM. We were also advised to order our drinks before that time. There was quite a bit of confusion regarding our order; several items didn't arrive unless we specifically asked for them, and the overall pace felt hurried. We arrived early for our reservation but ended up leaving at 9:40 PM, which was less than an hour after being seated. I was quite disappointed with my last dining experience, and since the restaurant is closing, I won't have a chance to return. Honestly, I'm not sure I would even consider going back otherwise.
