This review is pertaining to the branch at Bloor St W. Fast and friendly service from the skeleton crew on Fri night. Don't recommend the katsu fish. Other dishes are okay.
Tonkatsu meal and tonkatsu curry are both good. The rice for katsudon was unflavored but I still liked it. The amount of meat yiu get with the katsudon is reduced, tho. Overall, this is probably the best place in DT for tonkatsu, albeit a bit pricy.
I always love going to Mr. Tonkatsu for good ol' fashioned Tonkatsu. Albeit, a bit dry, they used to allow you to grind your own sesame seeds for the Tonkatsu sauce pre-covid. Now, they have it done for you.The sets come with unlimited Miso soup, cabbage salad, and rice. Super filling at such an affordable price!
Great Japanese and Korean dishes; try the fried chicken and ttukboki!———The food was pretty good here; the tonkatsu was delicious; of course, but we also really enjoyed the soy garlic fried chicken. The cheese ttukboki was also pretty good; the sauce is a little runny but there was a lot of rice cake, cheese, and fish stick in the bowl so I think it was a very good deal. The soba noodle was pretty okay; we were hoping for some udon as we had seen photos here on google but there was none to be found on the menu. The food was really good and the service was great; I would highly recommend it!
