Patty King Bakery - Toronto

I love Caribbean food, so what better snack is there than a meat pie? I stumbled across this restaurant while strolling through Kensington Market and just had to stop in and grab one. I opted for the Spicy Beef Patty because it seemed like the most popular thing to order. Judging from the out-the-door line, I figured I was really in for a treat! And I was right. Super hot, flaky crust, delicious filling. Excellent value! I wasn't brave enough to go for the goat patty, but that is definitely on my list for next time! Not such friendly service, extremely impatient and trying to hurry everyone through. But the food made it worth it!

I love patty king's patties. They are good to grab and go or to get in large batches. I recommend the curry goat or jerk chicken patties. I've also liked their jerk chicken lunch special.

Dropped by this place while I was in Kensington Market and picked up a beef patty on a coco bun. It was just alright to be honest. Definitely cheap. Not sure if I would return.

This is a little storefront with carry-out located in Kensington market. I think the name has changed-- it was called Golden Patty when I went. I love Jamaican patties but haven’t really found any place that has really good ones at home (here in Toronto on vacation). This patty was soooo good. Fresh, hot, and delicious. I can tell that I will be dreaming about that patty for weeks. I didn’t care for their ginger beer but they also had a really good mango butter cake. They also had lots of other goodies that I did not try (next time).

Patty King has an amazing assortment of Jamaican and Trinidadian delights. The patties are amazing, the doubles amazing and all the baked goods worth going the extra kilometre in your run in order to deserve. Oh yeah, they also have takeaway meals.Don't forget to get the homemade ginger beer to wash it all down.
